Congratulations Kanata for Winning the Minor Cubs-Blues Challenge

3rd Annual Cubs-Blues Challenge hosted by South Ottawa

CONGRATULATIONS to the Little League Minor Division of Kanata Baseball for winning the annual Cubs-Blues Challenge of 2016.

The Cubs-Blues Challenge is a one day tournament for all Spring Minor teams. The 2016 edition will be hosted by the South Ottawa Blues on May 28th.

In this one-day Challenge format, each team from South Ottawa and Kanata play a single game against an opponent from the other association. Whichever association wins the most games is declared the winner! 

This will be the 3rd annual edition of the Cubs-Blues Challenge. Here are the results of past challenges:

• 2014 - Cubs win 5 games to 3 games.
• 2015 - South Ottawa wins 6 games to 6 games*
• 2016 - Cubs win 12 games to 6 games

* Challenge rules give the trophy to the visiting team in the event of a tie.

Match-ups are based on house-league standings (ie. 4th place in Kanata vs. 4th place in South Ottawa, 8th place in Kanata vs, 8th place in South Ottawa, etc.) To make the standings more meaningful, they are taken as late as possible - which means a schedule may not be prepared until the weekend before the tournament.
