Umpire Training Course Registration

to register for the Little League courses, Login to your www.kllba.ca userid and complete both 'register as an umpire' and 'register for umpire training' or click on the 'Register for Training/Skills Clinic Course' button on the www.kllba.ca front page.

Registration will only be open in the weeks prior to the offering of a course.

Little League Umpire Training:

Introductory Umpire Course - all new umpires must attend this course in each of their first 2 years of umpiring.

or

INTERMEDIATE UMPIRE CLINIC:  for 14+ with previous umpiring experience, enables you to umpire at LIttle League Intermediate or above.

or

ADVANCED UMPIRE CLINIC: - for 15+ with previous umpiring experience, enables you to umpire at Intermediate and above and/or in DISTRICT level tournaments.

Clinics dates will be published when schedules are established, usually in Feb/Mar timeframe, courses are usually held in April..

OBA/Baseball Ontario Umpire Training:

All certification to be an OBA Umpire is done through the OBA Website.

Courses, are offered throughout Ontario and registration for those courses is done by clicking on the 'Umpire Clinics' button and following directions. You must first register and obtain an umpire card number.   Umpires first qualify as 'Level 1", and are able to umpire at Mosquito level or below. Umpires who already have their Level 1 can qualify at 'Level 2', with certification to umpire at Peewee up to Midget. To be an OBA Umpire you must be at least 14 years of age OR in at least your second year of umpiring. You must also first qualify as a Little League Umpire.

Kanata will generally host one Level 1 and one Level 2 Certification clinic per year, usually in late April or early May. Umpires must re-Certify every year.
