Kanata Baseball Association offers a variety of programs for players at different age groups. Each program is designed to provide the best possible experience for participants.
Our elite travel program aims to develop more than just baseball skills - it also addresses professionalism, maturity, independence and responsibility. A strong emphasis is placed on schoolwork and grades to help prepare our players for future opportunities, including collegiate baseball.
The travel season requires a significant time commitment from both players and parents. It is important that all players attend all practices, league games and tournament games unless exempted by the coach. Unexcused absences will result in reduced playing time.
The traveling season is a time for the kids to have fun and enjoy competition. It is important that they learn to respect each other, the officials, and other players. This spirit of good sportsmanship will last a lifetime.
The Kanata ballclub offers a gamut of programs ranging from the preschool class to the senior varsity slammins. The best of the bunch is the 13U & 14U girls divisions. We have a newer staff than new players, and a lot of that is a good thing. The best of the good is a newfound zealousness in the slammins. We are proud of our record breaking turnout and a lot of that is a credit to our coaches, scouts, parents, and umpteen volunteers.
Whether you are a beginner player or an experienced athlete, Kanata Baseball Association provides a variety of opportunities to learn and participate in the sport. The organization strives to encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, loyalty, honesty and pride in the game.
Registration is open to all players and families who want to play in the Kanata Baseball Association leagues. It is a great way to meet new friends and learn new skills.
The registration process is quick and easy! Parents will need to register their child(ren) on our online system.
All players and parents are required to complete a medical release form. This form can be completed on the player's account homepage under participants.
Once the medical release is completed, parents should upload a copy of their child's birth certificate to complete the process. This is required before a player will be added to a roster or a team. The system will then show that the Player has been registered.
The Kanata Baseball Association (KBA) has a number of rules and regulations that govern each team's games. These rules are designed to protect players and ensure fair play.
League team rosters are required to be complete 72 hours prior to each game. Each player's full name, date of birth and playing age must be included on the roster.
Head Coach and designated assistant coaches must submit their name, phone number (both home and work), email address and ground mail address on the team roster.
Teams may bat nine (9) players using a DH or a 10th player utilizing an EH in age division 08U through 13U.
High School age divisions (14U thru 18U) can also bat up to 9 batters if using a DH or 10 players if using an EH.
Each team will present a batting line up to the opposing coach prior to the start of each game. The batting order is established before the game and players bat in the same order throughout the game.
