Rep Program Overview

NOTE: Registrations for tryouts are now closed. 

Rep teams will have the following overall program outline:

• Tryouts in January
• Spring Training in February-April
• Playing season May-August

Rep teams will use the birth year to determine age divisions.  The following Rep teams are being made available in our program:

• 1999-2000 - 18U Midget Rep
• 2001 - 16U Minor Midget Rep
• 2002 - 15U Bantam Rep
• 2003 - 14U Minor Bantam Rep
• 2004 - 13U Peewee Rep
• 2005 - 12U Minor Peewee Rep
• 2006 - 11U Mosquito Rep
• 2007 - 10U Minor Mosquito Rep

* If the demand is high there may be more than one Rep team at any given level.

While Rep teams are part of our Competitive program, these teams will focus on Player Development.  This requires substantial committment to practice time in order to learn the skills of the game.  Games may be scheduled during the week or on the weekends.  Typical weeks during the playing season would be 2 games and 2-3 practices.

These teams will also participate in a number of tournaments throughout the season. All teams can expect to host their own OBA sactioned tournament in Kanata with proceeds going to the team.  Seaway Surge, Kingston Thunder and Montreal Rockies are also hosting tournaments that we should attend as local area tournaments.  Southern Ontario and particularly Toronto offers a variety of tournaments at all levels (Select, A, AA, AAA) that teams should look to attend to determine their classification.

All teams will have an opportunity to compete for the OBA Provincials.  Where multiple teams are vying for the same Provincials spot, there will be a NCOBA playoff in August to determine the affiliate champion.
