Little League World Series Tournament Commences

The Little League World Series Tournament playdowns have started.  Come on out to cheer on the teams and see some great baseball! Games in Kanata, or involving Kanata teams are highlighted below:

District 2 Senior Championships: at Kanata Upper Kinsman,  July 3-6 2016

• Sun July 3 6pm Kanata 8 vs East Nepean 10

• Mon July 4 6pm Ottawa West 15 vs East Nepean 1

• Tues July 5 6pm Kanata 2 vs Ottawa West 16

• Wed July 6  6pm   Final, East Nepean 5 vs Ottawa West 9

• Congratulations to Ottawa West who are 2016 Ontario District 2 Senior Champions and advance to Ontario Senior Championships in Ottawa West.

District 2 Ottawa West Crusaders made up of players from Kanata and East Nepean and  will play in this tournament. .

• Final - Windsor District 5  11 - Ottawa District 6   1

Windsor District 5 Wins Ontario Championship and moves on to Canadian tournament in Victoriaville, QC

District 2 Major Championships: at Britania Field Ottawa West 2016

• Fri July 15 6pm Ottawa West  3 vs East Nepean 2 

• Sat July 16 12pm East Nepean 2 vs Ottawa West 8

• Sun July 17 12pm East Nepean  vs Ottawa West (if necessary)

NOTE: For reasons beyond its control, the KLLBA Executive has elected not to submit a team to the Major Districts in 2016.

Ottawa West  advances to Ontario Championship approx July 26 – Aug 1 at Thunder Bay, Ontario
 

District 2 Junior Championships: at Grenfell July 15-17 2016

• Fri July 15 5:30pm Ottawa West  0 vs East Nepean 15  

• Sat July 16 12pm East Nepean  vs Ottawa West

• Sun July 17  12:pm East Nepean vs Ottawa West if necessary

• Kanata is unable to field a team in this age group for Districts. 

Winner advances to Ontario Championship approx July 26 – 31 at Windsor South, Ontario Ontario championship to be played on 60/90 sized field. 

 

District 2 Minor Championships: at Eagles Nest, East Nepean July 22-25 2016

• Fri July 22 6pm Ottawa West  vs East Nepean 

• Sat July 23 12pm Kanata  vs East Nepean 

• Sun July 24 12pm Ottawa West  vs Kanata 

• Mon July 25 6pm FINAL Top 2 Teams

Winner advances to Ontario Championship approx Aug 1-7 at Renfrew, Ontario
