The 21st Annual Scott Tokessy Memorial Gold Glove Little League baseball tournament was held in Kanata this past weekend. 53 teams from the Ottawa area, Southern Ontario, northern New York state and Eastern Quebec played 102 games, eventually crowning champions in 7 age divisions. Champions came from 6 different baseball organizations, and the Championship games featured the first ever Kanata vs Kanata final game in the Major A division. Proceeds of $20,000 raised at the tournament were presented to the cardiac unit of the Childrens Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), raising total donations to the hospital over the history of the tournamet to $340,000.
